"Sustainable development in agriculture "

Master of Science Agris Mundus course is willing to offer a full scholarship for 2 years to a citizen from Croatia. Agris mundus is supported by the Erasmus mundus programme of the European Commission.

The scholarship offered covers the tuition fees (7000 Euros/year) and the living expenses (14000 Euros/year)

The AGRIS MUNDUS Masters course’s objectives are to train students able to cope with the current global/international concerns in agriculture and rural development. Graduates will be qualified to identify and critically analyse key factors shaping the development of crop, forest and animal production, mostly in developing countries.

Duration: 2 years (120 ECTS).

The programme involves one year (M1) in one EU training institution, and one year (M2) in a second institution in a different EU country. 11 possible training tracks are available:

• Water management : operation and design
• Water management in rural development
• Water management in horticulture
• Safe production in horticulture
• Livestock systems management
• Animal production systems and development
• Agricultural development
• Food, nutrition and health
• Rural local development
• Agricultural systems for local development
• Institutions for agricultural development

Teaching languages: English, French, Spanish, Italian, according to the various M1/M2 possible combinations.

Admission conditions
The minimum admission criteria are the same for all students irrespective of their country of origin or of the training track they candidate to.

•  Bachelor of Sciences (180 ECTS) in a field related to agricultural development;
• Verified excellent quality of the institution where this first degree was obtained;
• Excellent academic background with marks identifying the candidate among the 20% best students of his former studies (BSc or BA degree with honours 1st class or 2nd class minimum);
• Strongly convincing letter of motivation and 2 letters of support from referees.

Special deadline for applications for Croatia: February 25 , 2008

Agris Mundus is a of high level Master of Science, and the selection at admission is severe. Only candidates who are able to show evidence of a very good level and well-constructed motivation have a chance to be admitted. Within this group, preference will be then given to candidates with appropriate professional experience and strongly convincing recommendations by an academic or a professional body.
