Master of Economic Science in European Economic and Public Affairs (MEconSc)

is a long-established graduate programme ideal for professionals and policy-makers seeking to build a career in the EU or in other sectors of the private, public and voluntary spheres, as well as a strong foundation for further academic research.

Its one-year, full-time syllabus is designed to equip graduates with strong expertise in contemporary European affairs and public policy. In addition to the coursework, the programme features two study trips, respectively to Brussels and Florence, which allow participants to interact with a wider range of policy-makers and leading academics in the field.

Applications
Basic academic criteria are the same as for admission to the MEconSc programme. Applicants must be employed as national government officials (including diplomatic missions abroad) of one of the 15 specified states, including Croatia. They may be employed on a permanent or contract basis, and must additionally meet the relevant academic or professional criteria.

Admissions
For our one-year postgraduate programmes, applicants would normally be expected to have a primary degree in a relevant subject and have attained at least Upper Second Class Honours.

Applications to our one-year taught graduate programmes will be though the UCD Online Applications system at http://www.ucd.ie/apply.

Applicants must also submit:

  • a sample of written academic work (to be e-mailed to spire.graduate@ucd.ie),
  • two academic references,
  • original transcripts of results to be posted to:

 Admissions Office, Tierney Building, University College Dublin, Belfield, Dublin 4, IRELAND

Scholarships will be awarded on merit, and the aplication deadline is 4 April 2008.
