PhD Program "Infection Biology"
Starting Fall 2003, ZIB launched the international PhD Program Infection Biology. The 3-year program, with English as the teaching language, plays a pivotal role in the training of young scientists in the field of infection biology.20 students from across the world are accepted each year after a rigorous selection procedure.
All students enroled in the PhD program Infection Biology automatically become part of two research schools: the Hannover Biomedical Research School (HBRS) and the Helmholtz International Research School for Infection Biology (HIRSIB).
The HBRS offers 3 PhD programmes with 20 positions each.
Requirements:
Students with a Master, Diploma in life sciences or medical degree (Staatsexamen, MBBS) are welcome to apply to all PhD programs. You should have at least 6 months of independent research experience (e.g. Master thesis, Dr.med. thesis). We require very good knowledge of English (usually TOEFL or other tests). And students should not be older than 32, as we are programs of excellence.
Students have to give us two letters of reference.
Deadline for application is April 1st, each year.
