Positions for PhD STUDENTS

for completion of the PhD theses (3 topics) concerning growth and characterization of nanostructures for spintronic and catalytic applications.

Topics of PhD theses (start of the projects: April 1, 2009):

  • Visualization of the magnetic domain structure at phase transitions using Kerr microscopy.
    (the PhD thesis must be completed before September 30, 2011)
  • Model metallic and bimetallic catalysts on patterned surfaces
    (the PhD thesis must be completed before September 30, 2012)
  • Modulation of the magnetic anisotropy for metal nanostructures on surfaces
    (the PhD thesis must be completed before February 28, 2013)

From candidates we expect:

  • M.Sc. degree in one of domains: physics, technical physics, chemistry, physical chemistry,
  • he/she must be enrolled in a PhD study in physics or chemistry (with specialization in physics/chemistry of condensed matter),
  • passion for research work,
  • high grades during studies,
  • good English skills.

  • CV,
  • cover letter,
  • confirmation of enrolment in PhD studies (including grades) (including grades),
  • list of scientific achievements (publications, conference contributions),
  • copy of the M.Sc. diploma,
  • additional information about English certificates, programming skills etc.


    The selection process will be completed by March 20, 2009.
