The Graduate Fellowship in Latvian American Studies

The Immigration History Research Center is pleased to announce that the American Latvian Association in partnership with the Latvian Welfare Association, the World Federation of Free Latvians, and the American Latvian Youth Association has established a graduate fellowship fund for Latvian American Studies at the IHRC with a gift of $71,000.

The American Latvian Association Graduate Fellowship Fund will provide financial support to graduate students engaged in studies for the Ph.D. in some area related to Latvian American history and culture. The fellows will also be affiliated with the IHRC as interns; they will help in the processing and cataloging of the collection and assist scholars conduct research in the collection.

A major national initiative, the creation of the American Latvian Association Graduate Fellowship in Latvian American Studies constitutes an investment in the future of research and scholarship pertaining to the role of Latvian Americans in the making of our country.
