Alpe-Adria Research Grants

The University of Udine is making the sum of 26.000 € available to increase the number of Alpe- Adria scholarship grants. The scholarships can be granted to non-Italian citizens who belong to member countries of the Alpe- Adria Working Community, in accordance with the convention approved by the Conference of Rectors from the Universities in the regions and republics of the Alpe-Adria Working Community. These scholarships are for periods of a minimum of 3 months and a maximum of 6 months which must be used between the 10th January and the 30th September,2011 at the University of Udine.

The scholarships will be awarded to post-graduate researchers, who are citizens of the Alpe-Adria Working Community (Italian citizens excluded) and who intend on carrying out their research on subjects which are of particular interest for the Alpe-Adria territory. The scholarships will be reserved for post-graduate students of the disciplines which are currently taught at the University of Udine. The monthly grant is 1290,00 € taxes included. The awarding of the scholarship grants will be decided by a Commission nominated by the University of Udine. The selection process will be based on interest of the research project; it is reserved to the Commission to decide the lenght of the research period.

Applications should be sent, by post or e-mail, not later than 30th November, 2010 to the University of Udine. Candidates need to indicate their personal details, send their:

  • CV showing clearly their studies,
  • a copy of their degree certificate,
  • certificate of their linguistic competences,
  • a synthetic description of their planned research project (include quantified optimal duration)
  • presentation letter from a Professor at their own University provided that the University belongs to the Conference of Rectors from the Alpe-Adria Universities.

If the case that a scholarship winner belongs to one of the member countries with which Italy has agreed an international convention to avoid being subject to double taxation, the candidate must just provide documentation of his/her citizenship and residence in the country concerned.
