The JoinEU-SEE Project

The project aims at fulfilling the overall and specific programme objectives. In accordance with the overall Erasmus Mundus Action 2 Strand 1 objectives, the aims of the JoinEU-SEE programme are the promotion of European higher education, to support the improvement and enhancement of scholars' career prospects as well as the promotion of intercultural communication and understanding through cooperation with the partner countries in the project consortium.

The JoinEU-SEE programme thus contributes to the sustainable development of third countries in the field of higher education in accordance with the external policy objectives of the European Union. JoinEU-SEE supports mobility at all level of higher education, including both mobility for students (undergraduate, master, doctoral and post-doctoral) and for staff (academic and administrative)

The role of associate partners is to help to promote the scholarship scheme and to inform potential students, especially those belonging to target groups 2 or 3, about study abroad possibilities in the JoinEU-SEE programme.

2. Who can apply
The JoinEU-SEE scholarship scheme is designed for:

  • students and staff members from Western Balkan countries wanting to study at an EU University details
  • students and staff members from the EU partner Universities wanting to study at a Western Balkan university details

Please note that exchange between two EU countries and within the Western Balkans is not possible.

3. Types of Mobility
Please note that the possible types of mobility vary according to target group (see graphic above: target groups and their possible types of mobility). Make sure you read through the description of the individual target groups carefully before applying. Read the information carefully and make your choice before applying! All universities in the JoinEU-SEE consortium are comprehensive universities that offer a wide range of studies which are open to participants of the exchange programmes. At the same time, the academic needs and special offers of universities are taken as the basis for the mobility frame.

Master degree and Doctorate degree seeking students please note: Check the degree programmes available at the host university concerned as some fields are open for exchange students only.
