CALL FOR VISITING FELLOWSHIPS 2011-2012

The European Union (EU) Centre in Singapore is a joint partnership of the National University of Singapore (NUS) and the Nanyang Technological University (NTU). Established in mid-2008 with financial support from the European Commission, the Centre’s primary mission is to promote knowledge and understanding of the EU through support for EU-focused education, research and outreach activities.

The EU Centre in Singapore has a strategic importance since Singapore is the major economic and education hub in Southeast Asia and hence well-placed to help generate greater awareness of the EU, its policies and their impact on the region.

The Centre has a Visiting Fellowship Programme aimed at encouraging more research exchange and collaboration between scholars interested in EU-related research at European institutions and the 27 EU Centres / Institutes and EU Centres of Excellence in the Asia-Pacific and their local counterparts. We also hope that through this Programme, experts and scholars from the European Union can contribute to the teaching and research of EU institutions and policies in our two host universities.

The Centre is now inviting applications for this Visiting Fellowships tenable in the period May 2011 – March 2012. Supporting grants of various amounts up to €6,000, commensurate with expertise, visiting commitments and duration, will be provided for the Visiting Fellow to cover travel, accommodation and subsistence allowances.
