DescriptionTraining in Peace Building, Macedonia

The Description

Centre for Nonviolent Action – Sarajevo/Belgrade organizes a training in Peace Building that will take place in Macedonia, in Mavrovo, from 28.06 until 08.07, 2013. The training in peace building is a form of peace education that CNA has been practicing for more than 14 years of working with people from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Serbia, Kosovo, Macedonia and Montenegro and thus enhancing cross-border cooperation and confidence-building in the region of former Yugoslavia. By attending the training you will get an opportunity to learn how to identify key political and social issues in your community, and ideas and inspiration on how to actively participate in their resolution.

The training is a ten-day intensive program that requires a high degree of motivation of participants and willingness to actively participate in the work. Each day is divided into two workshops. Topics that are mostly covered in training include: violence, understanding conflict, dealing with the past, peace-building, non-violent action, creative conflict resolution, gender roles, identity and national identity, diversity, discrimination and so on. Depending on the interests and needs of this group meeting topics may be added and some new themes. The training uses different methods of interactive work such as plenary discussions, small group work, experiential exercises, analysis of printed and video materials, role-play and so on.

The working language in the training is Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian.
