ACIM, Antwerp Centre for Institutions and Multilevel Politics,at the University of Antwerp is looking for a PhD researcher with an interest in public policymaking, interest groups and regulatory politics. We offer a position for four years (2 x 2 years) for writing a PhD on how non-state stakeholders (firms and civil society) affect transatlantic regulatory coordination.

If you

  • have a Master degree in Political Science, Economics or some other relevant social science discipline (at the latest on 30 June 2013) with excellent study results;
  • are passionate about scientific research and have an interest to conduct inter-disciplinary research combining political economy with political science;
  • have strong methodological and technical skills and interests, especially situated in the field of quantitative data-analyses, statistics, data-management;
  • knowledge of some statistical packages such as SAS, R or STATA (or prepared to learn these packages);
  • have excellent active knowledge of English and are prepared to learn some Dutch;
  • and if you are a creative person and a team-player with good communicative skills, and quality oriented,

then we offer you an inspiring and stimulating environment in ACIM, the Antwerp Centre for Institutions and Multilevel Politics, at the Political Department of the University of Antwerp. You will be supported by experienced supervisors and you will enjoy a doctoral training with courses that allow you to acquire the theoretical and methodological skills necessary for the PhD. We expect you to write a PhD and to publish scientific articles, to disseminate scientific output on scientific conferences and to the broader public, and to organize a research seminar. We offer you a full time position as PhD researcher for a period of 2 x 2 years with a view to obtaining a PhD degree. Date of commencement is 1 October 2013, but we can discuss an earlier or later start. You will obtain a gross monthly scholarship allowance of € 2.124,11 to € 2.347,88.
