The Sydney Driscoll Neuroscience Foundation and Brain Tumour North West are funding full-time PhD studentship (via MPhil route) at University of Central Lancashire in UK. The studentship is tenable for up to 3 years (subject to satisfactory progress). The studentship will cover the cost of tuition fees for UK/EU residents plus a maintenance grant of £13,590 (2012/13 rate). International applicants may apply but will be expected to pay the difference between the UK/EU and International Fee Rate.

Eligibility:

  • Students should have the potential to work under your own initiative and will be expected to interact productively with collaborators in the bio-sciences, so excellent communication and organizational skills are required.
  • Applicants should have, or expect to receive a minimum of UK 2:1 honors degree in Chemistry (or equivalent) in a relevant subject area. An interest in organic synthesis and medicinal chemistry are essential. An interest in the biological evaluation of small molecules would be desirable.

Scholarship Description: Applications are invited for a full-time PhD studentship in the School of Pharmacy and Biomedical Sciences funded jointly by the Sydney Driscoll Neuroscience Foundation and Brain Tumour North West. The studentship is tenable for up to 3 years for a PhD (via MPhil route) [subject to satisfactory progress]. The studentship will cover the cost of tuition fees for UK/EU residents plus a maintenance grant of £13,590 (2012/13 rate).
