Frederick Bonnart-Braunthal Scholarship at University College London

 

University College London is offering Frederick Bonnart-Braunthal Scholarship for pursuing MPhil/PhD Research programme for 2014/15 entry. One scholarship is offered for international applicants studying at either UCL or the London School of Economics (LSE). Scholarship will be awarded on the basis of academic excellence and potential and tenable for years 1, 2 and 3 of an MPhil/PhD programme. Closing date for scholarship application is no later than 26 March.

Eligibility: Applicants must be:
-Prospective MPhil/PhD students from any country;
-Admitted for full-time MPhil/PhD research in any department of UCL;
-Intending to pursue research relevant to the aim of the scholarship.

Scholarship Description: Frederick Bonnart-Braunthal Scholarship is aimed at tackling the causes and consequences of intolerance and are intended for students who plan to explore the nature of religious, racial and cultural prejudices and to find ways of combating them.

Number of award(s): One scholarship is available for 2014/15 entry.

Duration of award(s): Scholarship duration is for years 1, 2 and 3 of an MPhil/PhD programme, subject to annual renewal.

What does it cover? The value of the award is £25,000 per annum, tenable for years 1, 2 and 3 of an MPhil/ PhD Research programme, subject to annual renewal.

Selection Criteria: Scholarship will be awarded on the basis of academic excellence and potential. Financial circumstances will not taken into account.

Notification: The UCL selection panel meets in mid-May to shortlist candidates for a first interview in late May/early June. A second round of interviews will be held shortly, after which the Trust will make a final decision on the recipient of the award.

How to Apply: The mode of applying is by post.

Scholarship Application Deadline: Completed applications, along with the required documentation as detailed in the form, must be received by the UCL Student Funding Office no later than 26 March before the start of the relevant academic session.
