PhD Studentships in English at University of Leicester

The School of English is offering two studentships for October 2014 entry to its Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programme. Only UK/EU applicants are eligible for this studentship. Studentships are open to applicants wishing to pursue doctoral research in any area of English studies that can be supervised by our academic staff. Studentship covers full- or part-time registration fee and are payable as a full tuition fee waiver for three years (pro rata for part-time registration). Application deadline is 31st March 2014.

Study Subject (s):These studentships are open to applicants wishing to pursue doctoral research in any area of English studies that can be supervised by our academic staff:
Themes: History of the Book, Literature, Medicine and Science, Literature and War, Literature, Art and Film, Literature and Adolescence, Life Writing, Gender and Sexuality, English Language and Linguistics.
Periods: Old English and Late Medieval, Renaissance and Early Modern, Romantic and Victorian, 20th Century and Contemporary
 

Eligibility: -First class or upper second class undergraduate degree or an equivalent overseas qualification in English.
-Masters degree in English or a closely related subject.
-Standard English language requirements
-Available only to applicants who are eligible to pay the UK/EU tuition fee – i.e., those who are permanently resident in the UK or another EU country
-Available for full- or part-time registration
-Applicants must be able to start in October 2014.

Scholarship Open for International Students: The students of UK/EU can apply for these scholarships.
