Research Fellowship for ADIN – Advanced PHY/MAC Design for Infrastructure-less Networks, Portugal 2014

Applications for a Research Fellowship are invited for the Project PTDC/EEI-TEL/2990/2012, entitled “ADIN – Advanced PHY/MAC Design for Infrastructure-less Networks”, funded by the Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia.

Conditions for applying:

1. Duration: 12 months on an exclusive regime, according to FCT regulations for advanced training of human resources (http://www.fct.pt/apoios/bolsas/regulamento.phtml). Successful applicant will receive a one-year research assistantship, possible followed by a 3 or 4-year fellowship (based upon his/her first-year performance) to pursue the PhD degree.

2. Job Description: The problem of PHY/MAC design in decentralized networks is well known in wireless communications. In this project, we will revisit the possibility of solving it by properly designing PHY/MAC schemes adapted to the interference conditions. More information can be obtained from Prof. Rodolfo Oliveira (rado@fct.unl.pt).

3. Applicable Legislation: Statute of Scientific Research Fellow, approved by Law No. 40/2004, of August 18, amended and republished by Decree-Law No. 202/2012 of 27 August and amended by Decree-Law No. 233/2012 of 29 October and by Law No. 12/2013, of January 29 and Regulation Research Grant from the Foundation for Science and Technology, IP – 2012.
