Welcome to the Czech Music Camp for Youth!

Czech Music Camp for Youth serves young musicians between the age of 8 - 19. C.M.C.Y. admits students of any race, color, religion, national or ethnic origin, and does not discriminate in the administration of its programs. Students will be accepted on first come, first served basis.

TUITION
The basic fee for 10 days (one session) including instruction, room and meals is 195 EUR. The basic tuition for 5 days (C.E.Y.S.O.) including instruction, room, and meals is 98 EUR.
This tuition does not include transportation. All travel arrangements must be made individually.

Students from Eastern Europe (including: citizens / residents Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Serbia, Montenegro, Albania, Egypt, Morocco and the countries of former Soviet Union) may apply for 25 % discount.

ADDITIONAL FEES
Official invitation for your Czech visa application: 65 EUR.

Payment in cash upon arrival: 10 EUR.

Payment can be made via wire bank transfer or check after your application is proceeded. Deadline for all payments: May 31, 2006. Payment in cash can be made only upon permission given by camp management.

UNIFORMS
Camp uniforms are worn by all campers, teachers and staff for all concerts and some other activities as decided by camp management. Some parts of the uniform (Blue Lake polo shirts, sweaters, sweatshirts and jackets) may be rented at the camp (fee 40 CZK). New C.M.C.Y. polo shirts (330 CZK) and sweatshirts (350 CZK) can be purchased at the camp. (1 USD = approx. 22 CZK, 1 EUR = approx. 31 CZK). This uniform is to be worn with navy blue pants or navy blue skirt and white socks (students have to bring their own). Please bring enough socks and underwear to last for the whole session. Our laundry service is provided only for uniform items once per session. Since our camp is situated in the middle of forest, please bring substantial shoes.

CAMPUS
Our camp is situated in a beautiful nature setting near Horni Jeleni, Czech Republic approx. 130 km east of Prague. Students will stay in small cabins with 4 bunk beds or in hostel rooms with 4 single beds. Meals including breakfast, morning snack, lunch, afternoon snack, dinner, and soft drinks, will be served in the camp cafeteria.

EVENING PROGRAMS
Besides music classes, our goal is to show campers the beauty of music also through evening concerts and recitals. Evening concerts and recitals of staff and student ensembles will be held for the whole camp season. All events will take place on campus.

ELECTIVES
An hour daily will be reserved for electives. Students can choose choir, drawing, harp, piano, Czech drama, English drama, English conversation, music theory, angklung ensemble, individual practice, nature hikes, and sports.

CONCERTS AND REHEARSALS
Auditions begin on the Opening Day (Friday) at 3:00 p.m.
Mid-session performance of camp ensembles takes place halfway through the session, on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. The next performance will be held on 2nd Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
Final performance of camp ensembles takes place during Final Sunday according to the posted schedule. All concerts are finished by 5 p.m.

Horni Jeleni is a small town in East Bohemia 130 km (90 miles) east of Prague and 30 km (18 miles) south east of Hradec Kralove.

CAMP TRANSFER
Campers may use our direct bus service from Prague to Radost camp Horni Jeleni. The fee including bus transfer (one-way), one extra night in Radost camp Horni Jeleni, meals and supervision is 20 EUR (or equivalent in CZK). The fee will be paid upon arrival at the camp. Departures: Thursday July 20 & August 3, 2006, Prague, Wilsonova St. (Main Train Station) @ 2:30 p.m. Arrivals: Monday July 31 & August 14, 2006, Prague, Wilsonova St. (Main Train Station) @ 11:30 a.m.

EARLY ARRIVALS
If for some reason students need to arrive earlier, there is a fee 15 EUR (or equivalent in CZK) per 1 night with meals and supervision. The fee will be paid upon arrival at the camp. Please notify the camp in writing 30 days before the beginning of session. Students may not arrive earlier than 2 days before the opening day. Host families will be arranged over the session break for students who apply for both sessions. Host family service is free of charge.
