Description

The PUEDES Consortium is composed of 20 full partner Universities plus 10 associated HEIs and other organisations and institutions. It intends to build a mobility scheme that goes beyond the number of scholarships that may be awarded within the project budget, both for European Union (EU) and Latin America (LA) students and staff. The project creates an opportunity to consolidate the partners’ institutional relations and to explore new opportunities for cooperation.

PUEDES project will be a great opportunity to enhance partners’ profile and to boost cooperation with a new geographical area. Partners will promote the participation of students from vulnerable groups or in risk of social or economic exclusion (TG3) by devoting them the 26% of the total mobility.

The positions offered by the EU partners covers all the thematic fields within the call, especially in the areas identified as key priorities to promote University engagement in social and economic development: Business and Management, Engineering and Technology, Law, Medical Sciences and Social Sciences.

Mobility positions in LA are concentrated in study areas with long tradition in LA like Agricultural Sciences or Geology and some other remarkable ones like renewable energies, climate change or human rights.

The programme aims at assigning a total of 190 scholarships. All activities of the programme must conclude by July 2017, as it is the end date of the project.

Eligibility

If you want to apply for an Erasmus Mundus Action 2 PUEDES scholarship, you have to fulfill these conditions:

  • You must be a national of one of the countries indicated on the lot (EU, Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador, Paraguay, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Mexico, Panama, Uruguay and Venezuela), regardless of the TG you belong to.
  • You have not resided or carried out your main activity (work, study, etc) for more than a total of 12 months over the last five years in one of the European countries at the time of submitting your application. This rule does not apply to TG3 or EU applicants.
  • You did not enjoy another Erasmus Mundus scholarship within the same programme or at the same level of studies. If you did enjoy any other EU scholarship at any time, you must clearly state so on your CV.

Applications will be divided in three different Target Groups, as defined by the EACEA. These groups are TG1, TG2 and TG3, and they are defined as follows:

  • TG1 are the applicants that, at the moment of application, are registered at one of the institutions within the partnership. Undergraduate students must have successfully completed at least one year of studies in their home institution.
  • TG2 are the applicants that, at the moment of application, are registered in a Higher Education Institution (not included in the partnership) concerned by the lot or obtained a university degree or equivalent from a HEI of the lot countries.
  • TG3 are the applicants nationals of one of the countries of the lot and are part of a vulnerable target group. Students who are in a particularly vulnerable situation, for social or political reasons, for example: having a refugee status or asylum beneficiaries; it can be proved that they have been the object of unjustified expulsion from university on racial, ethnic, religious, political, gender or sexual inclination; belong to an indigenous population targeted by a specific national policy or internally displaced persons. No financial disadvantage or having suffered the consequences of a natural disaster can be considered here.
