Summer School in Philosophy and Politics

Over the course of many years the IWM together with several partner institutions has regularly organized its Summer School in Philosophy and Politics. International scholars and students from the whole of Europe as well as the United States meet for two weeks to discuss and work in several courses.

Cortona, Italy, August 13-26, 2006

The IWM organizes this years' summer school exclusively for its alumni. They constitute a distinguished, exceptionally diverse international network of researchers and intellectuals. In the future, we want to offer additional opportunities for our alumni to take part in our programs and also to foster intellectual exchange among them.
Organization

Participants are required to enroll in three courses which will meet daily Monday through Friday. The summer school will be conducted in English. There is no tuition for the summer school; course materials, full board and room will be provided (accommodation in double rooms, single room possible for additional payment). Participants are, however, responsible for travel costs to and from Cortona and for incidental expenses. Weekend excursions will be arranged. The number of participants is limited to 40 persons.

Applications
Only former summer school participants and IWM Junior Visiting Fellows can apply for the summer school.

The application should be submitted in English and include:

• the application form (available for download here),
• a curriculum vitae
• a brief letter of intention (up to 5 pages) discussing at least one of the question raised by the faculty; please also make some suggestions how you would like to contribute to these topics.
