MTS Scholarship Program in Marine Technology, Engineering and Science

Marine Technology Society offers signifi­cant scholarships each year for marine-related programs. Scholarships are offered to college graduate, undergraduate and senior high school students accepted into a full-time marine-related program. Applicant must be an MTS member. An applicant must be either full-time college student cur­rently enrolled in a either a 2-year or 4-year academic program OR a high school senior accepted to either a 2-year or 4-year academic program. Student members from around the world are welcomed. Applicants must use the scholarship money in the 2014-2015 academic year.

Study Subject (s): Marine Technology Society provides scholarships to students focused on studying marine technology, marine engineering or marine science.
Course Level: Scholarships are offered at graduate, undergraduate and senior high school level.

Scholarship can be taken at: Abroad (Colleges may be international or domestic, not just the US).

Eligibility:
-An applicant must be either full-time college student currently enrolled in a either a 2-year or 4-year academic program or a high school senior accepted to either a 2-year or 4-year academic program.
-Colleges may be international or domestic.
-Students who previously re­ceived one of the awards listed below are ineligible to apply the following year for the same award.

Scholarship Open for International Students: International students can apply (all student members from around the world are welcomed. Colleges may be international or domestic, not just the US).

Scholarship Description: Each year MTS offers significant scholarships to college graduate, undergraduate and senior high school students accepted into a full-time marine-related program. Last year MTS provided a dozen graduate and undergraduate scholarships, in addi­tion to the graduating high school and ‘named’ scholarships listed below. Among the eligibility criteria for an MTS schol­arship is the requirement that the applicant must be an MTS member. Student Membership is for full-time college students and high school seniors is only $25 per year. As well, an applicant must be either full-time college student cur­rently enrolled in a either a 2-year or 4-year academic program OR a high school senior accepted to either a 2-year or 4-year academic program. Colleges may be international or domestic. Students who previously re­ceived one of the awards listed below are ineligible to apply the following year for the same award.

Duration of award(s): Applicants must use the scholarship money in the 2014-2015 academic year.

What does it cover? Money is to go towards tuition only for the current school year. The award cannot be applied towards room, board, book, equipment or anything other than tuition. The check is in US funds only and is sent directly to your Bursar Offices, not to scholarship recipients. No exceptions. This is a onetime award, not continues award.

Notification: Applicants will be contacted by the office via email and/or phone call. Please allow two to three months after the scholarship closing date for the process to be completed.

How to Apply: Applicants can apply online firstly then have to print and post them.

Scholarship Application Deadline: Application deadline is April 15, 2014.
