NEDTC daje stipendije doktorandima u području društvenih znanosti.

Kandidati se mogu prijaviti za dva tipa stipendija:

  • 1+3 Year NEDTC studentships (diplomski studij + poslijediplomski)
  • +3 NEDTC studentships (poslijediplomski) or +3.5 NEDTC studentships (poslijediplomski + metode istraživanja)

Prijaviti se mogu stanovnici Ujedinjenog Kraljevstva ili Europske unije koji imaju određen stupanj obrazovanja u srodnom području.

Description
The NEDTC, a joint venture between the universities of Durham and Newcastle, is one of the largest and most innovative of the ESRC’s national network of doctoral training centres. They are a centre of excellence for postgraduate social science scholarships, offering students a world-class, interdisciplinary environment for doctoral training and research.

Studentships are offered in the following subject areas. Please note that not all subject areas are offered at both universities, please check the full subject list for further information:

Anthropology;
Economic and Social History;
Education;
Environmental Planning;
Finance and Economics;
Human Geography;
Linguistics;
Iberian American Studies;
Law;
Management and Business Studies;
Politics and International Relations;
Psychology;
Social Policy;
Social Work;
Social Sciences and Health;
Sociology.

Eligibility
Applicants for the 1+3 Year NEDTC studentships (Master’s plus PhD) will usually hold a first-class or good upper-second undergraduate degree.

Students applying for the +3 NEDTC studentships (PhD) or +3.5 NEDTC studentships (PhD plus research methods training) will usually hold a Master’s level qualification demonstrating performance at or around distinction level.


Applicants must be United Kingdom citizens or residents of another European Union country in all subject areas, except Economics and Finance where studentships are open to all students regardless of their nationality. European Union applicants who have not been resident in the UK for the three years prior to the start of their studentship are eligible for a fees-only award from the ESRC.

Scholarship
100% of UK/EU tuition fees paid. GBR 14,057 (16-17 UK Research Councils’ rate) living expenses per year. Other financial support is also offered.

How to apply?
Candidates must consult their prospective department or school in the relevant university to discuss their research plans and check that there is a member of staff who can supervise their chosen thesis before making a formal online application. Deadline for applying is 1 February 2016.
