Stipendija pokriva troškove školarine i džeparac za dvije akademske godine. Rok za prijave je 1. travnja 2016.

Amsterdam Science Talent Scholarship

The Amsterdam Science Talent Scholarship (ASTS) offered by the Faculty of Science is aimed at talented students from the Netherlands and the European Union / European Economic Area who choose to do a Science Master’s programme. It is a full scholarship of €10,000 per year, for a maximum of two academic years. It covers tuition fees and part of the living expenses.

Who is eligible?

You are eligible for the scholarship if:

(1) You have submitted a complete application and meet the admission criteria of one of the Master's programme of the Faculty of Science.

(2) You have a grade point average (GPA) corresponding to the top 10% of students from your graduating class. This means an overall grade point average equivalent to at least:

  • 3.5 (GPA American system)
  • 1st class honours / upper division British system
  • 8+ (Dutch EC-system)

(3) You are able to comply with the conditions to obtain a Dutch visa (if applicable).

(4) You meet the English language requirements of the Faculty of Science.

How to apply?

Applying for the ASTS-scholarship is possible for Dutch students and foreign students.

  • Students form the European Union or from the European Economic Area can apply by the procedure of applying for a Master programme. Use this Datanose-form. Please fill in the textfield at 'How are you going to finance your stay in Amsterdam?' that you want a financing by ASTS.
  • Dutch Students must also first apply for a Master programma with this Datanose form. Next, send an email to master-science@uva.nl and mention that you wish to finance this programma wist an ASTS-scholarship. The programma-coordinator will contact you to give you further instructions.

Deadline

  • The deadline for applications is 1 April 2016 (for start in September 2016).

Procedure

The programme director will make an initial selection and then recommends potential scholarship candidates to the Amsterdam Science Talent Scholarship Committee. The ASTS committee takes all the submitted information into consideration and will make the final decisions. You will be notified about the outcome in the beginning of May.

Conditions

  1. The scholarship is awarded to students in their first year of a Master's programme. Only students following a 2-year Master's programme may be awarded a scholarship for a second year. The prerequisite for obtaining the scholarship for a second year is the achievement of at least 80% of the 60 possible credits.
  2. The Faculty requires that students satisfy the supplementary requirements imposed on students, such as the obligation to attend all classes, good progress etc.
  3. If a student receives another scholarship, the amount will be subtracted from the Amsterdam Science Talent Scholarship.
