The Network for Sustainable Climate Risk Management (SCRiM) links an international, transdisciplinary team of climate scientists, economists, philosophers, statisticians, engineers, and policy analysts to answer the question, “What are sustainable, scientifically sound, technologically feasible, economically efficient, and ethically defensible climate risk management strategies?”

The 4th Annual Summer School on Sustainable Climate Risk Management will take place 15-19 August 2016 at The Pennsylvania State University.

Proposed Sessions:

  • Tribal Perspectives on Climate Change;
  • Earth System Modeling;
  • Uncertainty Quantification;
  • Risk Analysis;
  • Policy Analysis and Robust Decision-making;
  • Climate Data Analysis;
  • Geoengineering;
  • Integrated Assessment;
  • Coupled Epistemic-Ethical Analysis.

Eligibility

This program is targeted at advanced graduate students and postdocs.

In special circumstances, they may consider applications from other early-career professionals who have recently completed their master’s or doctoral degrees and are working in SCRiM-relevant fields.

Costs

Lodging, meals, and tuition costs are covered for all participants. In most cases, they are also able to provide full travel support.
