Late PhD Studentship Opportunities for 2006/7 at Cardiff Business School (All Nationalities)

A number of PhD Studentships (potentially covering both tuition fees and living expenses) have become available for students wishing to commence their studies in September/October 2006. Students of any nationality may apply. We are seeking strong applicants (with a first class, or upper second class honours degree or Masters degree).

* Applicants must be highly qualified and motivated – with an outstanding academic record and be able to demonstrate excellent research potential.
* Applicants must satisfy the English language competency requirements stipulated by the director of the Postgraduate Studies Research Programme.

How to apply

* Applicants should apply using the standard Cardiff University application form for postgraduate study and indicate clearly the academic school and area of research that is intended. * Applicants should indicate clearly on the front page of the application form that they wish to apply for a 2006/7 Studentship.
* Applicants should include with their application, two referees’ reports in sealed envelopes. At least one of the referees should be a university teacher, have a good knowledge of the applicant’s academic ability and achievements, and indicate, where possible, the applicant’s ranking in his/her class.
* Applicants should also include copies of transcripts and degree certificates.
* Applicants should include in their ‘previous experience’ reference to any research projects undertaken, including at Bachelors/Masters level, and any publications arising from this research.
* Applicants should submit a detailed research proposal of no more than 4 pages, setting out the general area of research, your intended contribution to the field of study, an indication of the research method(s) you intend to follow, and a full bibliography.
* Incomplete applications will not be considered.
