dedicated to diversity and the fine arts, has designated four complete scholarships (tuition, room, and board) for international string students.

Currently there is one viola and one cello opening. Candidates will need the following to apply:

• Have finished high school or equivalent.
• One video of the candidate performing two contrasting works. DVD or Video Cassette is acceptable.
• A completed music department application form. Forms can be downloaded off the internet by visiting www.wiu.edu/music 
• Three letters of recommendation. These must include information on applicant's academic and sight reading ability.
• A completed International Application for Admissions. Forms can be downloaded off the internet by visiting http://www.wiu.edu/international/pdf/application.pdf  
• A nonrefundable application fee of $30 (USD).
• Official academic records in the native language plus certified English translation if in language other than English. Sent directly from each school attended.
  Official TOEFL test scores sent directly from ETS. Must have obtained minimum acceptable TOEFL score of 550 (pbt), 213 (cbt), or 79-80 (ibt).

All materials must be received as soon as possible for full consideration.

The School of Music application, letters of recommendation (these must also speak to the student's sight reading and academic ability), and video must be sent to:
