Why choose Iuav?

Because Iuav is a special university. One of Italy’s top architecture schools – yet unique among Italian universities – Iuav is a “themed” university that is entirely devoted to design: architecture, planning, design, fashion, arts and theatre.

Iuav is a place that provides teaching, higher education and research into designing the spaces and environments that man inhabits: buildings, cities, landscapes, territories; but also everyday objects, cultural events, theatre, multimedia and graphics. A space of teaching and research into restoration and the history of architecture and the arts.

A university that is completely unique in its teaching methods: students at Università Iuav di Venezia do not only learn in the classroom, but in fully-equipped labs under the direction of internationally renowned professors and professionals; or through internships in different companies, in direct contact with the most vital production companies; or working directly in the area, in collaboration with various bodies and institutions. A university that is student sized, in a city that is human sized, unique in the world.

Internship and work experience

All our courses have mandatory work experience activities.

Internships in Europe are funded by the Erasmus scholarship programme.

Every month a large number of workshops are organised in order to improve our students’ skills.

Rate of employment 6 months after graduation: 82%

Admissions

All our courses have an admission test that takes place usually in the month of September.

Italian language background required: B2

Students enrolled: 4.500 | International students: 450

Scholarships and tuition fee

Iuav offers a the Study@Iuav scholarship and tuition fee waivers programme for international students to help cover tuition fees and living costs.

Tuition Fee for a Croatian Student: 1.000€

Accomodation in Venice

In order to make the most of your time in Venice, it is important to feel secure and comfortable in your accommodation. International students are often concerned about where they will live.

Don’t panic. There is a variety of accommodations available, one is owned by Iuav.

A company called ESU, the regional residential accommodation partner and preferred provider, manages student residences.
