About the Scholarships FairThe Scholarships Fair, organised by the Institute for the Development of Education, is a unique event of national importance in Croatia, during which a number of scholarships and other forms of financial aid available to Croatian citizens for studying in Croatia and abroad are presented at a single location.
The Institute for the Development of Education organised the first Scholarships Fair in 2005. Having become an annual event, the Fair is now a recognisable, high-profile Croatian educational brand and a highly valued initiative promoting investment in knowledge and human potential.
Why the Scholarships Fair?
The main goal of the Scholarships Fair is to promote the importance of scholarships in opening and raising access to higher education. Scholarships play a key role in removing financial obstacles to higher education and have a direct impact on raising the number of higher educated citizens, which is necessary for Croatia's continued economic growth and the creation of a knowledge-based society.
The second goal of the Scholarships Fair is to promote the importance of scholarships in bringing educational outcomes in line with the needs of the labour market.
Exhibitors
Exhibitors at the Scholarships Fair are the representatives of institutions that award and/or administer scholarships or any other form of financial aid for higher education in Croatia and abroad. The exhibitors include Croatian ministries, cities and counties, Croatian and foreign universities and faculties, embassies and cultural centres of foreign countries in Croatia, foundations and private companies.
Target groups
Visitors of the Scholarships Fair include high-school students, undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate students, as well as young professionals in need of scholarships to further pursue their professional development. These target groups mostly include individuals between 16 and 35 years of age, who represent a generation that will generate change and set the foundations for further development of Croatian society.
