Graduate Student Awards and Assistantships
SIUE is a major public university offering a broad choice of degrees and programs ranging from career-oriented fields of study such as engineering and business to the essential and more traditional liberal arts. SIUE offers 43 baccalaureate degrees, 41 masters´s degrees and 2 first-professional degrees. SIUE is located 25 minutes from downtown St. Louis.
Eligibility Requirements
Limited assistantships may be available for graduate students. A 50% assistantship provides a semester tuition waiver and a monthly stipend of $765 to $800. Appointees are required to work for the department for 20 hours per week. Assignments may be teaching, research or general duties. Most appointments are for 9 months; some are for 12 months. A 25% assistantship also provides a semester tuition waiver. The monthly stipend is between $382 and $400 for 10 hours of work per week.
