Sveučilište u Ljubljani dodjeljuje jednu punu stipendiju za poslijediplomski studij postavljanja celularne bežične mreže.

Prijaviti se mogu svi kandidati koji su završili diplomski studij računalnih znanosti, elektroničkoga inženjerstva, matematike ili drugih srodnih područja. Prednost će imati kandidati sa znanjem o statistikama i/ili analizom podataka.

A fully funded PhD position is available in the field of Cellular Wireless Positioning at the Faculty of Computer and Information Science of University of Ljubljana.

The goal of the project is to research novel positioning algorithms leveraging radio signals from the mobile cellular network, with special focus on 4G/LTE signals. The research will involve a mixture of theoretical and experimental activities, with extensive use of real measurement data and field testing.

University of Ljubljana is the largest and oldest university in Slovenia and is a strong national and regional educational institution ranked among top 500 universities according to ARWU Shanghai ranking.

Course Level: Scholarships are available to pursue PhD program.

Study Subject: Fellowship is offered in Cellular Wireless Positioning.

Scholarship Award:
 

• a three-year’s employment contract as researcher plus full coverage of the PhD enrollment fees.
• research work under the supervision of Prof. Fabio Ricciato.
• involvement in regular coordination and joint activities with the u-blox R&D team and other cooperating universities from outside Slovenia.

Eligibility: The ideal candidate has completed a Master degree study in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics or related field. She/he is curious, proactive and enjoys engaging in puzzling technical/scientific challenges that involve both theoretical reasoning and system-level thinking. A background in basic statistics and/or data analysis would be a plus.

The candidate has to enroll into PhD Study Programme at the University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Computer and Information Science in year 2016/2017 (deadline for submission of applications is 3rd June 2016). It is expected to complete his/her doctoral study within three years (possible extensions are possible subject to mutual agreement).
