ZSEM Master of Arts in Economics - Grants available

MA in Economics is a two year program comprised of basic courses in the fields of macroeconomics, microeconomics, econometrics, quantitative methods and finance, taught in most advanced graduate programs in USA and Europe. The classes will be taught in English, Classes will be in afternoon and the program will start in March.

The goal of our graduate program is to educate highly-qualified economists whilst stressing the importance of quantitative methods. As this type of graduate program remains virtually nonexistent within the bounds of the South East Europe, the knowledge acquired will put students who complete this program in a better position on the labor market, giving them a comparative advantage over others.
 

Educated at leading universities and working at renowned institutions, our faculty is capable and determined to offer you a perfect combination of applied and theoretical knowledge in economics that is comparable with the best master programs in the field. The faculty is consistent from lecturers who worked or studied at some of the most renowned world institutions, such as the Bocconi University, London School of Economics, North Carolina University, University of Pompeu Fabra, Autonomous University of Barcelona, CERGE, University of Wisconsin, Southampton Universitiy, University of Ljubljana, the IMF, or the Croatian National Bank (CNB). The Chairman of the Program is dr.sc. Neven Mates, multiple IMF mission chief (including Russia) and the Chief Advisor to the Governor of CNB.
 

Partnerships and internships


Students will be able to benefit from the extensive exchange program of ZSEM with over 100 universities and schools abroad, which provides excellent opportunities for studying abroad during one or two semesters.
Furthermore, the ZSEM`s Career center is very successful in finding placements for internships positions at both private and public institutions, including those in finance, commercial corporations, research institutes, central banks, international institutions etc.
 

Grants


ZSEM will offer grants (a reduction in tuition fee) to 3 excellent students in the amount of 100%, 75% and 50% of the total fee for each selected student respectively. The main selection criteria are academic merit, extracurricular activities, financial status and the motivation letter.
Further, ZSEM wishes to offer an international experience for its students and thus additionally encourages international students to apply. Specifically, one student from each of these countries is eligible for a grant in the amount of 30% of the tuition fee: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Greece, Kosovo, Macedonia, Moldavia, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia.

Requirements
 

The applicants should submit the following documents:

• Birth certificate (original or a copy verified by a notary public),
• Citizenship certificate (original or a copy verified by a notary public),
• Diploma certifying achieved academic degree (original or a copy verified by a notary public),
• Grade transcript,
• Two recommendations by persons informed of the candidate’s academic and professional development,
• Motivation letter,
• CV,
• two photographs (4x6 cm),
• proof of income by the tax administration office for students who wish apply for ZSEM grants.

After enrolment students may apply for ECTS credit recognition if they have already passed similar or same courses in another graduate or four year undergraduate program. The tuition fee will be reduced accordingly.
