The Erasmus Mundus Master Course in European Literary Cultures – CLE  An “Erasmus+ Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degrees” programme (since 2008)

  • During the full-time program (23 months) EU and Non-EU students will have a fantastic opportunity to join an exciting international environment by spending terms in two or three different consortium universities.
  • The language of instruction varies according to the institutions chosen by the students depending on their language knowledge. At the end of the Master Course, the consortium universities provide a double or multiple degree.

Erasmus Mundus scholarships awarded to the best CLE students from all over the world:

  • up to a max of € 16.000/year for EU candidates
  • up to a max of € 22.000/year for non-EU candidates 

Academic partners > eight primary universities in the field of European literary studies: • Alma Mater Studiorum - University of Bologna, ITALY (programme coordinator); • University of Haute-Alsace (Mulhouse), FRANCE; • University of Strasbourg, FRANCE; • Aristoteleion Panepistimion Thessaloniki, GREECE; • University of Lisbon, PORTUGAL; • Cheikh Anta Diop University of Dakar, SENEGAL; • Russian State University for the Humanities (Moscow), RUSSIA • University of Mumbai, INDIA. Associated partners > Cultural Institutes, Cultural Associations, Publishing Houses, Archives, Museums and Foundations. They participate in the CLE activities in the framework of the Humanities and Enterprises Annual Dialogue - H.E.A.D project.

Admission requirements

  • A good level first-cycle degree in the field of European Literary Cultures (with Literature, History, Arts and Languages).
  • A recognized level of proficiency in English (minimum level B1) AND in the language of instruction of the consortium institution chosen for the first year of study (minimum level B2).

ERASMUS MUNDUS Master's Degree in European Literary Cultures - CLE   Erasmus + Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degrees programme (dal 2008).

  • The course lasts two years full-time. EU and Non-EU students have the fantastic opportunity to live in an international environment by spending their study period at two or three universities in the consortium.
  • The language of instruction varies according to the University chosen by the student based on their language skills. At the end of the two years and at the completion of the course, students will obtain a double or multiple diploma.

Admission requirements

  • first cycle diploma in a field compatible with the CLE (with exams in Literature, History, Art, Languages).
  • minimum level B1 of knowledge of the English language AND minimum level B2 of the language of the first university chosen in the mobility plan.

Erasmus Mundus Master in European Literary Cultures – CLE  Selected for the "Erasmus + Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degrees" programme (since 2008)

  • For the entire duration of the full-time Master (23 months),EU and Non-EU students have the wonderful opportunity to join an international educational environment and enjoy an exciting stay at two or three universities in the consortium.
  • Language of instructionchanges according to the institution chosen by the student on the basis of known languages.  At the end of the Master's degree, the universities of the consortium award a double or multiple degree.

Deadline to submit the application to participate in the Master: January 13, 2022

  • maximum amount of 16,000 euros/year for EU students
  • maximum amount of 22,000 euros/year for non-EU students

Admission Criteria

  • An excellent undergraduate level and training related to the disciplines of the CLE Master (literature, history, art, languages).
  • A good level of English (minimum B1) AND the language of the university chosen for the first year of Master (minimum B2).
