Dancing with a Philosopher: Movement, Embodiment and Mediation

Applicants are sought for PhD studentship which will be funded by the University of Edinburgh and Edinburgh College of Art.

Each studentship will cover the UK/EU rate of tuition fee plus a maintenance grant at the AHRC level for three years full-time study. The studentship is  available to students from any country, with the benefits being pro-rated for part-time students. The sole criterion for the studentship will be academic excellence; successful applicants are likely to hold or expect to achieve the equivalent of at least an upper second first degree.

Edinburgh College of Art Project - Dancing with a Philosopher: Movement, Embodiment and Mediation
The project will examine how the use of new technologies can advance research in the area of embodied cognition, through providing tools, conditions and practical procedures for an interdisciplinary dialogue between contemporary dance practice and investigations in philosophy of mind.
