Doctoral Research Studentship in Disc Regeneration

A Postgraduate Research Studentship (PhD) will be available starting in June 2009. The position is designed for investigative work in developing injectable scaffolds for the repair of damaged intervertebral discs (IVD’s). The successful candidate will become part of a collaborative research program focusing on the development of a minimally- invasive route to surgical implantation of the IVD tissue engineering constructs.
Fellowship:
€16,000 per annum plus fees
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate would have a Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biotechnology, polymer engineering, biomedical engineering or related sciences. A first class honours track record is essential. Preference will be given to candidates who have a Masters degree.
