MICROFLUIDIC SYSTEMS FOR BIOLOGICAL DEVELOPMENT

The University of Navarra is the most prestigious private University in Spain. It’s a medium-sized University with 15,000 students. The BioMEMS area, recently founded, forms part of the Bioengineering Centre of the University of Navarra (CB).The group consists of 8 researchers (3 PhD, 4 PhD students, 1 research technician) at the present time.

As a postdoc researcher, your research project will involve the development of microfluidic systems in several projects (LOC): the integration and miniaturization of biochemical and cell analysis using microfluidic technologies. Responsibilities of this position include the design and simulation, fabrication and characterization of the microfluidic chips. Given that the group belongs to the Biomedical Campus, drug delivery development and other applications are of particular interest. As a senior member of the research team, you will also play an advisory role in other ongoing research projects.

Requirements

A successful candidate should have the following qualifications:

• A Ph.D. in the development of microfluidic devices.
• Experience in lab working with sensors, microfluidics and microfabrication.
• Solid background and hands-on experience in microfluidic devices and their
  applications in biologically relevant systems.
• Ability to work independently and safely.
• Flexibility in your approach to work and willingness to learn new skills and to
  interact with medical doctors, biologist and scientists from other biomedical
  disciplines.
• An excellent team player with good communication skills.
• Fluency in the English language.

Conditions of Employment

Duration of contract: 2 years.
Annual Salary: at least of € 36.000 before taxes, depending on qualifications and work experience. Salary would be complemented with family, health coverage and other benefits.
