Candidates from Western Balkan countries and Turkey have access to very attractive Erasmus Mundus grants to follow the Europubhealth Masters Course.

The Europubhealth Consortium has recently been informed that Erasmus Mundus scholarships will be available for the 2010/12 academic year for applicants from the Western Balkans (Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo under UNSC Resolution 1244/99, FYRoM, Montenegro and Serbia). and Turkey. Those applicants have access to Category A grants (24 000 Euros/year) if they apply by 15th December and Category B grants (10 000 Euros/year) if they apply next spring.

As co-ordinators of an Erasmus Mundus Masters Course in Public Health, Europubhealth (www.europubhealth.org), we would like to ask you to distribute this information to students who have completed their undergraduate (Bachelors) degree as well as academics and professionals.

Europubhealth is a two-year fully integrated European Masters Course coordinated by EHESP French School of Public Health and supported by the Erasmus Mundus programme. It includes five other partners:

  • University of Rennes 1 (France)
  • University of Copenhagen (Denmark)
  • Andalusian School of Public Health (Spain)
  • University of Sheffield (United Kingdom)
  • Jagiellonian University of Cracow (Poland).

Students with different subject backgrounds are most welcome to enrol since public health is made up from the coming together of knowledge and skills from both social and biological science and is thus in constant renewal through the interweaving of such different but complementary perspectives. For admission to the Masters course, students require a minimum of a Bachelors degree in, for instance, economics, law, management, political science, life sciences, health, nursing sciences, social sciences, physical science.

The applications for Europubhealth close on 30 November 2009 (for Erasmus Mundus scholarship applications), but we shall take into consideration this late announcement from the European Commission for late applications from Western Balkans students.

The deadline for applying has been extended to 15 December 2009.

Moreover the Erasmus Mundus programme offers grants to third-country scholars (academics) who are interested in carrying out research, teaching assignments and scholarly work for 3 months linked to the Europubhealth Masters Course.
