Elisabeth Strouven scholarship

Who is eligible?

The Elisabeth Strouven foundation provides a scholarship for talented Master's students.
Applicants have to be admitted to one of the Master’s programmes of the Faculty of Health Sciences starting in September 2011.

Candidates must meet all requirements of the application procedure. The scholarship is a contribution to the livings expenses for a maximum period of 12 months.

Applicants must be a national from an emerging country in South America, Africa and Asia. Also eligible countries are Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Bulgaria, Romania, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Hungary, Croatia, Macedonia, Turkey.

Applicants with a scientific background in health sciences, health care policy and innovation and chronic care are especially invited to reflect.

Amount of the scholarship
The Scholarship is a contribution to the living expenses for the duration of the master’s programme at Maastricht University with a maximum of 12 months.

Allowance per month-€750 Paid by the Scholarship Office
Health and liability insurance-€500 Arranged and paid by the Scholarship Office
Visa costs-€438 Arranged and paid by the Scholarship Office
Tuition fee waiver with a maximum of €5,000 The remaining tuition fee must be paid by the student

Application & selection

The Faculty will rank the scholarship candidates. The Maastricht University Scholarship Committee and the Elisabeth Strouven foundation will make the final decision. Applicants will be informed about the selection outcome early May.

For the scholarship assessment, the Scholarship Committee takes all elements of the application into account, including the level of previous study programmes, academic excellence, motivation, status of the home institution, the connection with the prior study programme, future career plans and the references.
