Job description: Cultural Manager
Organisation: International Elias Canetti Society, Ruse / Bulgaria
Salary: ca. 750 EUR per month (pre-tax)
Conditions: full time, temporary for one year, extension possible
Start of work: May 1, 2012

The International Elias Canetti Society was founded in 1992 in Ruse, the birthplace of Elias Canetti. The central goals of the Society include a dedication to researching Canetti's work, promoting the European integration process and participating in rebuilding civil societal structures in post-communist Bulgaria. Through their various methods, the Society’s work encompasses essentially four fields: Cultural mediation, cultural dialog, civic education, and academics.

To support our team we are searching for a cultural manager:

Your tasks

- Management of our culture and art department
- Management of international cultural projects
- Design and development of new international projects and cooperations
- Networking, close collaboration with Goethe-Institut and HALMA - the European Network of Literary Centres
- Representation of our society on local and international level

Your qualification

• Post-graduate
• Experiences in international project work
• Experiences in handling public and private subsidies
• Structured, target-oriented, and flexible way of working
• Willingness to travel
• Interested in the German and Bulgarian culture scene, the Balkans, the Danube region, and Eastern Europe
• Work experience abroad
• Excellent knowledge of German or Bulgarian and good knowledge of the other language plus good knowledge of English
• Ease of handling common office software
