 Erasmus Mundus Joint/Double Doctorate in Interactive and Cognitive Environments

 

We hereby kindly inform you that the Erasmus Mundus Joint/Double Doctorate in Interactive and Cognitive Environments (EMJD ICE) is offering 8 PhD positions.
The on-line application form is now available; the deadline for applying is January 13, 2013.

Our program gives the applicants the chance of enjoying an education track in the field of research related to computer science, electronic and telecommunication engineering, and industrial design.
The program lasts three years and foresees a structured mobility scheme, tailored on each candidate’s assigned research project, to be spent in at least two of the five partner universities, which are: Università degli Studi di Genova/UniGe – Technische Universiteit Eindhoven/TU/e – Queen Mary University of London/QMUL – Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya/UPC and Technische Universitet Klagenfurt/UNIKLU.

The selected candidates will be in receipt of a scholarship of €100.800 as gross salary (€33.600 yearly) for living expenses financed by the EACEA (European Community) through the ICE Consortium; additionally, Cat. A students will receive €7,500 for travel expenses.

The medium of instruction of the programme is English; nevertheless, the PhD students will be offered language courses that will allow them to improve their ability to interact with various subjects in the most common situations of everyday life.

A key role is played also by the project supervisors (two at least are assigned in both the hosting institutions), since they take care of the study progress of the PhD candidates and help them to improve their research capabilities.

At the end of the track, if the candidates are successful, a joint or double degree issued by the assigned institutions will be awarded under the frame of the ICE programme, that 26 partners worldwide, coming both from the industrial and the academic sector, have already supported demonstrating the international relevance of this PhD course
