Announcement follows:

Applications are invited for 2 full time PhD studentships based at the Institute of Psychiatry, Kings College London. (Denmark Hill SE5 Campus)

The focus of the project is on the long term-outcome for adults with autism of average IQ, and outcome in their siblings. All potential participants were previously assessed as children or young adults.

The outcome measures to be used will be based on those used in our previous follow-up studies of individuals with developmental disorders. However, there will also be scope for the successful applicants to develop additional measures or pursue additional areas of interest. Participants will be scattered around the country, so willingness to travel and work irregular hours will be an essential requirement.

Eligibility

Applicants should have at least a 2.1 degree in psychology and have previous experience of working with people with autism or intellectual disability. A Masters degree in research methodology would also be beneficial.

Stipend: £15,000 per annum plus fees and research and travel expenses incurred as part of the project
