PhD Scholarships
The Economics Discipline is currently offering 2 Scholarships for students commencing a PhD in 2006.

These scholarships are for three years fulltime and include an annual stipend of $15,000 plus guaranteed tutoring or Research Assistance work to the value of $4231 (ie a total of $19231 tax free per annum). An extension of 6 months may be negotiated if needed. Applicants must have at least a 2A Honours degree or equivalent and a proposed research topic in one of the discipline's Research Theme areas.

These are:

• Trade and Growth
• Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs)
• Economics of Social Issues
• Economic and Business History.

Applicants will need to submit the following as their application:

• a brief (1-2 pages) outline of their research proposal,
• proof of their qualifications
• 2 academic references
